Patient Voice Talk – Update
A month or so before Ed died he volunteered to give a “Patient Voice” talk to final year medical students at the University of Cambridge.
Ed had found the “Patient Voice” talks very useful when he was a students and thought he could give an unusual perspective, that of a doctor who was also a patient. A few days before Ed died he realised that he would not be able to fulfill his commitment so asked his mother, Ellie, to stand in for him.
So on the 9th October 2019 Ellie repeated the talk she had given a year earlier in the William Harvey Lecture Theatre at the Clinical School at Adenbrookes Hospital. The talk was very moving and had a powerful impact upon all those attending.
UPDATE: Ellie repeated her talk this year on the 6th October 2021, but this time by Zoom.
