Tom Completes His Challenge of 3000km in 3 months, 16 Days Ahead of Schedule
Ed’s eldest brother Tom, (who also does our graphics and website), decided in August to cycle 3,000km (1,864 miles) over the 3 months. The challenge that Tom set himself was huge - the equivalent of cycling from London to Istanbul!
Well, Tom completed the challenge 16 days ahead of schedule and in the process raised nearly £4,000 for Ed’s Foundation!
On Tom’s Just Guving Page for the event, he movingly says: -
“Ed was my youngest brother and he was the best brother you could ever hope for, always smiling, joking, and friendly. In September 2016 he was diagnosed with metastatic Clear Cell Sarcoma at the age of just 27 and he lived only another 8 months from his diagnosis to his death in June 2017.
He's left a gaping hole in our family, that will never be filled, and the last seven years haven't been easy. Up until now, I've not felt ready to get out there and do something to help raise funds for the Foundation my parents set-up in Ed's name. Then the other day, in early August something changed, my mind shifted, and I decided then and there that I wanted to ride 3,000 km (1,864 miles) in 3 months in order to help the Foundation reach its target of £1,000,000.”
Thank you Tom for what you have done. Absolutely brilliant!
